| Description | This series consists of correspondence and other documents relating to the Grand Coronation Ball held on 12 May 1953 at St Kilda Town Hall. The first debutante ball organised by the Archbishop’s Committee (particularly Mrs Santospirito and Mrs Lena Cincotta) was held in 1946. In 1953, the debutantes were presented to Mrs Santospirito, Capuchin priest Fr Carlo di Matteo and Dr Bellini, the Italian Vice Consul. The records comprise RSVPs, notes re ticketing, lists of debutantes, speech notes. Please note related series. |
