Description	This series relates to Mrs Santospirito’s application for a licence to import Italian films. The showing of Italian language films was intended to be another fundraising activity for the Archbishop’s Committee as well as providing cultural events for the migrant and Australian communities. The original plan was to import 26 films a year. In August 1953 Mrs Santospirito was issued with a licence to import two films per year. It would seem that this venture did not continue for long. As early as 1950, film distributors and theatres were approaching Mrs Santospirito to advise her of upcoming Italian films and asking her for help in promoting these films in the Italian community. Other organisations also used Italian films for fundraising and cultural activities: these records include a circular advertising a film evening for unemployed Italians, organised by the Dante Alighieri Society in November 1952.
