Description

This series consists of miscellaneous records relating to two major shipping lines between Italy and Australia, Lloyd Triestino and Flotta Lauro. It was originally filed as Folder 20 in Cassetto A.

It includes correspondence between Mrs Santospirito and Lloyd Triestino. There is a Reuters Daily Bulletin from Aden dated 16 December 1952, presumably distributed to the line’s passengers.

This series also contains a passenger list from 1952. This document lists information about passengers disembarking at Fremantle, Melbourne and Sydney, and their past and future occupations and addresses. Information about 78 passengers is recorded for Fremantle disembarkations, 250 passengers at Melbourne, and 239 at Sydney. The following data is recorded for each passenger: Name, Nationality (British or alien), Past occupation, Country of last permanent residence, Future occupation, Intended address in Australia.
