At Tommaso Fiaschi we understand the role quality childcare plays in establishing a solid base from which children can develop and grow. We believe children are individuals and should be treated accordingly. We encourage children to develop a strong sense of self, to recognise their own worth, and to create their own identity. This ensures the rights and needs of all our children are respected.
Our programs are designed to encourage play and stimulate learning. Routines allow children a sense of stability and security. We encourage and support children to participate in all activities, irrespective of their ability, enabling them the best opportunity to develop to their full potential.
We recognise the importance of good nutritional habits and have attained the Start Right eat Right Award which acknowledges best practice in nutrition and food service in long day care centres in Victoria. Our children enjoy a two course lunch plus snacks which include lots of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as meat and dairy. We encourage a pleasant, relaxed environment for eating and younger children are offered foods suitable to this age group. All food is freshly prepared daily at the centre.
Our Waiting List
All children seeking a place at our centre need to be on the waiting list. The procedure is easy, just fill in the waiting list and send or e-mail to the centre. When a place becomes available, you will be notified of the vacancy. If you wish to take the place, you will discuss orientation with the co-ordinator and the room staff. All children are individuals and some need a longer periods to settle than others.
Child Care Benefits
Most parents are eligible for Child Care Benefits or you can claim it as a lump sum when you do your tax. To do this all families need a reference number and a number for each child. You will be unable to claim any rebate if they cannot track your usage. To register you need to contact Centre Link and fill in the appropriate forms. You will need to quote our CRN reference number 555 003 845B. You can contact Centre Link office on 136150.

Families are welcome to visit our centre at any time except at general sleep time between 12.00 and 2.30pm. While we endeavour to be available to show you around, our priority is the care of the children and we may not always be available. You can always telephone to make a time to be shown around on 03 93471484.
Accreditation
Tommaso Fiaschi is a fully accredited Child Care Centre.
Accreditation is about ensuring that children in childcare receive quality care, which fosters all aspects of their development. As accreditation is ongoing the centre submitted its self study in March 2008 and is awaiting the validation of our self study. The validation report along with the staff and parent surveys are reviewed by moderators and they review all the documents and compile a Composite Quality Profile and Continuing Improvement Guide. This goes to the NCAC and they make the Accreditation Decision.
