It is memories that make us. If we do not remember who we are and where we come from then, who is to say that we existed at all?  In this poetic documentary we capture the shared stories of Italian migrants, now aged 70 plus, who made Australia their home after the end of the Second World War. Composed of conversations, story circles and memory walks, we hear and see the extraordinary lives made and lived by ordinary Italians. From the mines of Wonthaggi to the snow pea farms of Korumburra; from the oil refineries of Altona to the coffee shops of Carlton, we are immersed in the connected memories that our storytellers carried with them. Love, tragedy, longing, laughter fills the documentary with these memorial traces, bringing into the present the lives it seeks to tell.
