CO.AS.IT. is an accredited CELI Exam Centre, authorised by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia to organise and administer all levels of CELI exams.

The Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana (Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language), or CELI, is an internationally recognised qualification of the Italian language destined for applicants wanting to validate their relative Italian fluency, offered by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. It is accepted as an official qualification notably by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is one of the qualifications used by foreigners to get entrance into any Italian university or higher education institution.

Eligibility

The CELI Qualification is open to all applicants wishing to validate their abilities in the Italian language once registered. There is a special qualification (CELI adolescenti) for secondary students aged 13 to 17 years.

Qualifications levels

CELI offers six qualification levels modelled on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): CELI IMPATTO (A1 CEFR); CELI UNO (A2 CEFR); CELI DUE (B1 CEFR) ; CELI TRE (B2 CEFR); CELI QUATTRO (C1 CEFR); CELI CINQUE (C2 CEFR).

Exam procedure

The exam tests all four language competencies: speaking, writing, listening and reading.

On the morning of the examination day the candidates sit for a written test comprised of three parts, aimed at assessing listening, reading and writing skills. After a break each candidate will then sit through an individual oral test with two examiners.

The duration of the various parts of the exam varies according to the level ranging from one hour and a half for the CELI 1 exam, to four hours and forty-five minutes for the CELI 5 exam.
