The Italian Historical Society was established in 1980. Much of its collection has been donated by Italian migrants and their descendents, and while reflective of the experience of Italians across the country, the focus is Victoria.

Nominated for a 2022 Victorian Museums and Galleries Association Award as part of the Italian Carlton Project.
