A multi-sited exhibition with essays, artist talks, performances, symposia held in iconic Carlton venues

reciproco/RECIPROCAL brings together five contemporary Australian artists of Italian origin and five contemporary artists from Italy to create new works in iconic venues of Carlton. Multidisciplinary artist will explore the nuanced narratives that describe both the chronicles of century-old Italian migration to Australia and those that have signposted the millennial evolution of italianity.

The pairing of Italo-Australian artists: Eugene Carchesio, Angela Cavalieri, Damiano Bertoli, Domenico de Clario, Wilma Tabacco, with Italian artists Angelo Bellobono, Alessandro Cannistra`, Laura Cionci, Rocco Dubbini  , who have travelled to  Melbourne & Luana Perilli, where each pair are  collaborating to create a new work in multiple locations across the Carlton heritage precinct including, Readings, CO.AS.IT., Brunetti’s Cafe, Melbourne General Cemetery and La Mama Theatre.

The artistic outcomes include a multi-sited exhibition, essays, artist’s talks, performances, symposium and a digital archive of the process.
